Africa's Ethnic Groups Assignment:
1. Each of you will receive a map of Africa. On your map (click below if you lose your copy), shade in the regions where you can find each of the following ethnic groups in Africa: Bantu, Ashanti, Swahili and Arab. You can use the coach book or the chart on the back of your map to help you determine the regions they live.
2. Once you have shaded the area where each ethnic group lives, watch the videos below. You can also read about each ethnic group by clicking the button below. You may want to jot down a few notes as you watch/read.
3. After watching the videos and/or reading the informational text, use the information you learned create a map key and write a brief description of each African ethnic group (Bantu, Ashanti, Swahili and Arab).
4. On your map, write 3-5 sentences explaining how each ethnic group's location influences their culture.
